Lewis Undergoes Successful Surgery
ACL not torn and tailback should be full for fall practice

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech redshirt freshman tailback Elan Lewis underwent successful knee surgery Tuesday afternoon at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. The procedure was performed to determine the status of Lewis' hurt knee, an injury he suffered during a spring scrimmage.

Dr. Marc Siegel, who performed the surgery, found a slightly torn meniscus and a frayed - but not torn - ACL. The meniscus and ACL were "trimmed" but the ACL was not re-constructed.

According to head athletic trainer Mike Goforth, Lewis should be full - barring any setback - for the start of preseason camp.
