Tech Football Scrimmage Open to Public
Fans encouraged to attend

The first of two open scrimmages for the Virginia Tech football team will be held this Saturday, Aug. 11 inside Lane Stadium. The second open scrimmage will be held one week later, on Saturday, Aug. 18.

Head coach Frank Beamer is encouraging all fans to attend the two scrimmages.

Fans can enter through gates 4 and 5 and gates will open at 3 p.m. Fans can sit in the west side seats only. No cameras or video cameras will be allowed in the stadium. Fans will not be permitted on the field at any time during or after the scrimmage.

Stretching and practice will begin at 3:15 with the scrimmage running from approximately 3:45-5:15 p.m.

Fans are also encouraged to attend the team's charity car wash on Friday, Aug. 17 from 4-6 p.m., in the Tech softball/track parking lot across from Lane Stadium. Players will be washing cars with all donations going to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.
