Former Tech football player to participate in flyover

Former Tech football player Cliff Anders will lead a military flyover with two AH-64 Apache helicopters during pre-game ceremonies before the Hokies’ Homecoming football game against Western Kentucky this Saturday. Anders served as a member of the Corps of Cadets when he played at Tech, graduating in 1999. He was a snapper for the Hokies and played in the national championship game against Florida State on Jan. 4th, 2000 in New Orleans.

Anders, who has the rank of a captain, is part of the Combat Aviation Brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division based in Fort Bragg, N.C. The Combat Aviation Brigade will arrive in the Blacksburg area on Friday and will conduct practice runs from 8:45-9:15 a.m. timeframe.

The Tech-Western Kentucky game is slated for kickoff at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
