All Virginia Tech alumni and fans are cordially invited to The Welcome Back Football Picnic on Sunday, Aug. 8 in the south end zone of Lane Stadium at Virginia Tech. The Blacksburg Hokie Club serves as the hosts of the event, and the delicious menu is provided by Custom Catering and donated by ISP Sports. There will be barbecue pork sandwiches, hot dogs, baked beans, cole slaw, pasta salad, potato salad, chips, cookies, brownies, lemonade, iced tea and water. The event will begin at 5 p.m. and conclude around 7:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance for $20 per adult and $10 for children 10 and under. Tickets may be purchased at A Cleaner World (540-951-9506) at103 King Street in Blacksburg.

All guests at the event will enter at the gate in front of the south end zone of Lane Stadium.

All proceeds from the event will benefit athletics scholarships and facilities. Special guests at The Welcome Back Football Picnic will be head coach, Frank Beamer, the entire 2010 football team and other guests from the athletics department and university administration. Bill Roth, “the Voice of the Hokies,” and his sidekick, Mike Burnop will be the masters of the ceremony. There will be autograph sessions with the entire football team at 6:30 p.m. All guests are limited to one autograph item.
