    Battle suffers torn ACL in Saturday's game
    Defensive tackle lost for the season

    BLACKSBURG – Redshirt junior defensive tackle Kwamaine Battle of the Virginia Tech football team will miss the rest of 2010 season after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee in Saturday’s game against James Madison.

    Battle, from Hope Spring, North Carolina, will have surgery performed by Dr. Marc Siegel on Friday at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg.

    Battle started the first two games for the Hokies this season and will be replaced by Antoine Hopkins in the starting lineup. The backup spot will be determined this week in practice.
