Tech to hold first open football scrimmage Saturday
BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech football program will be holding the first of two open scrimmages this Saturday, Aug. 10 inside Lane Stadium. Practice begins at 7 p.m., with the scrimmage starting after stretching and a few drills. Fans are encouraged to attend, but are allowed to sit in the west stands only. Also, videotaping is strictly prohibited.

The only other open scrimmage to the public is on Saturday, Aug. 17 and that practice will also begin at 7 p.m.

Fans can enter through gates 4 and 5 only. No fans will be allowed on the field following the scrimmage. Concession stands and the bookstore souvenir shop will be open on the West side only. Fans will not be allowed on the field afterwards.

Parking is available in any lot without a pass, but fans must park in legal parking spots. Admission is free.

Tech will open its 2013 season on Aug. 31 against top-ranked Alabama in the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff in Atlanta.
