Priority parking for expectant mothers available for home games
Four different lucky mothers-to-be will be selected

BLACKSBURG ( - Virginia529 College Savings Plan and Virginia Tech IMG Sports Marketing are proud to announce the newest addition to their partnership: priority parking for expectant mothers.

This innovative program will make it easier for pregnant women to get to and from Lane Stadium. Expectant mothers can visit to register for a chance to win one of four reserved parking spaces just outside the stadium gates. Four different lucky mothers-to-be will be selected for each Virginia Tech home football game.

The program also reminds fans about the importance of planning for the costs of post-secondary education. Virginia529, the official college savings plan of Virginia Tech, supports families in achieving their higher education goals.

“Just as these parking spaces help moms get to the stadium more easily, Virginia529 is available to help them save for their children’s college education,” said Mary Morris, Virginia529 CEO. “We are especially excited to participate because the winners of these spaces are at an optimal time to begin saving. The earlier families get started, the more time they have for their savings to grow and meet their kids’ needs in the future.”

“Virginia Tech football is a family affair, and we share in Virginia529’s interest in the care and education of Virginia’s children, said Brandon Forbis, General Manager of Virginia Tech IMG Sports Marketing. In the spirit of Hokies Respect, we have the ultimate respect for the expecting mothers. Premium Parking is very limited at Lane Stadium and we’re excited to partner with Virginia529 to offer these spaces to expectant mothers, because we’ve never seen it done in college sports.”

Virginia529 is the presenting sponsor of the season-long rivalry series between Virginia and Virginia Tech. There will be promotions throughout the year in which fans can participate, including a chance to win $52,900 toward a college education at the VT-UVA football game in November.
