BLACKSBURG, Va.—The Virginia Tech athletics department announced today ticket applications for the Battle at Bristol will be mailed the week of February 3-7 to all Virginia Tech Athletic Fund (Hokie Club) members and Virginia Tech football season ticket holders. The Battle at Bristol will feature the Hokies and the Tennessee Volunteers at the Bristol Motor Speedway, September 10, 2016, in what could be the highest attended college football game ever.
Tickets to the Battle at Bristol will be assigned using the Virginia Tech Athletic Fund’s Point Priority System based on Hokie Club rankings as of Dec. 31, 2015, followed by football season ticket holders that are not Hokie Club members based on date of ticket order. In coordination with the Virginia Tech Athletic Fund’s recent change to awarding of priority points for Season and Postseason Tickets, all Hokie Club members can earn two years worth of additional priority points for the 2016 Battle at Bristol. Hokie Club members ordering tickets to the Battle of Bristol in 2014 will receive three additional priority points per ticket toward their point priority ranking for 2015 benefits. For example, if a Hokie Club member orders eight tickets in 2014, he will then receive an additional 24 priority points toward his 2015 ranking (eight tickets x three points = 24). This same Hokie Club member would receive another 24 points in 2015 toward his 2016 ranking. Hokie Club members ordering tickets in 2015 will receive three additional priority points per ticket toward their point priority ranking for 2016 benefits.
At each giving level there are sometimes multiple donors with the exact same number of priority points, and when this occurs the Hokie Club must go through a series of tiebreakers to determine who is ranked highest out of those members. So an additional 24 points on top of your current gift, cumulative giving and years of continuous membership points can improve your ranking during the next two years leading up to the 2016 Battle at Bristol. As a result of a higher ranking, you increase your opportunity to improve other benefits such as your season football parking location, bowl ticket location, etc.
Hokie Club members and football season ticket holders will have until Oct. 1, 2015 to submit their order and receive preferred seating. An unlimited number of tickets can be ordered, with up to 10 tickets being placed in priority. A $25 non-refundable deposit per ticket is required when you place your order. An invoice for the remaining ticket balance will be mailed in early 2016. With the Point Priority deadline being Dec. 31, 2015, seat allocation won’t take place until early 2016.
To order your tickets, please return the order form attached to the brochure or place your order online at hokietickets.com. For more information on the Battle at Bristol, log on to vthoki.es/bristol.
