Virginia Tech Football to hold first Fan Appreciation Day
Free event to take place Saturday, Aug. 9 inside Lane Stadium

BLACKSBURG - To kick off the 2014 season, the Virginia Tech football team will host a special fan day experience to give Hokie fans a unique opportunity to interact with their favorite players and coaches. On Saturday, Aug. 9, the team will take part in Fan Appreciation Day inside Lane Stadium. The event is free of charge and gates will open at 11:30 a.m.

“We have the best fans in the country and this is one way for us to thank them for their support,” Virginia Tech director of athletics Whit Babcock said. “Any successes we have start with our fans, which is why we’re always looking for opportunities to give back. Rewarding the Hokie Nation with a chance to have fun on Worsham Field and interact with the team is a great way to kick off another season of exciting Tech football and it will be the first of many ways we say thanks for their support this year.”

In addition to autographs from Coach Frank Beamer, selected assistant coaches and players, fans can also get their photo taken with the HokieBird in the famous tunnel that the team comes out through on game days, as well as Tech cheerleaders. Posters and schedule cards will be provided at no charge and the Virginia Tech Athletics Ticket Office staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about season tickets, as well as take orders.

Full details, including entrance locations, parking and the in-stadium schedule, will be available, as the event gets closer.
