ESPN live pregame returns to Blacksburg
The College Football Countdown show is set for Monday, Sept. 7

BLACKSBURG – ESPN's Rece Davis, Desmond Howard and David Pollack will make a stop in Blacksburg for College Football Countdown on Monday, Sept. 7, in advance of a special edition of ESPN College Football presented by Capital One telecast featuring Virginia Tech versus defending National Champions and No. 1 Ohio State at 8 p.m. The trio will be onsite for pre-game, halftime and post-game reporting, beginning at 7 p.m.

This will be the seventh time ESPN will televise a live pregame show in Blacksburg, last visiting on Sept. 1, 2007 for Tech’s season-opening game against East Carolina. The other times include twice in 1999 and 2005, and a single visit in 2000.

Last year’s tilt between the two programs in Columbus, Ohio, ended with a Hokies’ 35-21 victory, the lone blemish on the Ohio State’s national championship season.
