Virginia Tech Signing Day Live, Coach Fuente Press Conference on Feb. 1

BLACKSBURG -- On Wednesday, Feb. 1, Virginia Tech will provide wall-to-wall coverage of National Signing Day. HokieVision, and @VT_Football will be bringing Hokies’ fans the most comprehensive coverage available.

Our multi-media team will be stationed in the Merryman Center beginning at 7 a.m. ET, ready to announce when the first letter comes across the fax machine. Prospects are not officially Hokies until their NLIs are verified by the Tech compliance office, and as soon as they are, we will post on the official @VT_Football Twitter feed.

Throughout the day, will provide the most complete information on the newest Hokies, including bios, stats and highlights, as well as comments and scouting reports directly from Tech's coaches.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., HokieVision will present live coverage from the Merryman Center on “Voice of the Hokies” Jon Laaser leads Tech’s National Signing Day team and will be joined by former Hokies tight end and Virginia Tech Hall of Fame color analyst Mike Burnop as they catch up with mid-year enrollees already on campus in Blacksburg. Tech football sideline reporter Andrew Allegretta will be joined by head coach Justin Fuente and selected Tech assistants break down the latest signees.

Coverage continues at 1:30 p.m. with the Virginia Tech football signing day press conference. Coach Fuente will address the media to provide perspective on the 2017 recruiting class and provide a look ahead to spring football practice which is slated to begin on March 21. The Virginia Tech Athletics Ticket Office will begin accepting season ticket renewals for the 2017 football season beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Virginia Tech football season tickets remain available at $350 for a fourth consecutive year. While that pricing is already a solid value, as a special “thank you” for loyal fans, any account that renews by Feb. 16 will receive a complimentary Hokies stadium blanket (one per account) available for pickup at the 2017 Spring Game on April 22.

Fans can renew their season tickets online at or by returning their renewal form in person at the Virginia Tech Athletics Ticket Office or by mail. All 2016 season ticket holders and Hokie Club members also should anticipate receiving a ticket catalog and renewal application in the mail the week of Feb. 6. This ticket catalog will include important details regarding season ticket renewals, as well as the re-seating process for 2017 in conjunction with your contribution to Hokie Scholarship Fund.
