River Course to host Tarheel Tour event
The Notebook
The purse and field will be determined the week prior to the event. The purse in these events is generally at least $100,000. The public is welcome to attend and admission is free. This is the first professional tour event hosted by the Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech since its re-opening two years ago following a redesign by Pete Dye.
The tour features many young professionals, including some who competed against Virginia Tech during their collegiate careers. Former Hokie Brendon de Jonge, currently 17th on the Nationwide Tour money list, competed in a Tarheel Tour event earlier this season during a break in the Nationwide Tour schedule.
