Golfers Finish Seventh at Ironwood

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Virginia Tech finished seventh Tuesday afternoon at the Ironwood Intercollegiate at the Ironwood Golf Club in Greenville, N.C. The Hokies shot a final round 306 to finish with a total of 904, seven strokes off the lead.
Brian Krusoe shot a final round 73 to finish tied for 18th place. Johnson Wagner shot a final round 80 to finish at 228 and tied for 22nd. Three Hokies, Brendon de Jonge, Chris McKeel and Ryan Stinnett shot 230 and tied for 29th position.
Georgia Southern won the event, shooting an 897. Charleston Southern and Furman tied for second at 900 and UNC Wilmington was fourth, with a 901. Coastal Carolina and host East Carolina tied for fifth at 903, one stroke ahead of the Hokies.
Tech returns to action March 19 & 20, as they compete in the Cleveland Golf Collegiate Championship at the Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C.
