Krusoe tied for third to lead Hokies

AIKEN, S.C. - Virginia Tech shot a 299-287=586, good for third place after the first two rounds of the Cleveland Golf Collegiate Championship Monday afternoon. The first two rounds were played on Monday and the event is being played at the Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C.
Hokie Brian Krusoe is tied for third place, after shooting an opening-round 75-66=141, four strokes off the lead. Krusoe's second round, 66, was tied for the lowest round of the day. Brendon de Jonge shot a 72-73=145 and is tied for seventh place. Chris McKeel shot a 75-75=150 and is tied for 25th place and Johnson Wagner shot a 78-73=151 and is tied for 29th place. Ryan Stinnett shot 77-76=153 and is tied for 38th place.
Wake Forest leads the 15-team tournament after shooting 577 on day one. Augusta State is second with a 583, three strokes better than the Hokies. Kansas is fourth with a 588 and Virginia Commonwealth is fifth with a 592.
The final round will be played on Tuesday afternoon.
