Tech Moves Into 2nd Place at Furman

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Virginia Tech fired a 289 and moved into second place with a 581 after the second round of the Furman Intercollegiate Saturday. The event is being played at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
Hokie Johnson Wagner shot a 71 and is tied for seventh place, with a 144. Brendon de Jonge also shot a 71, and is tied for ninth place with a 145. Ryan Stinnett shot a 74 and is tied for 14th place, with a 146. Brian Krusoe also shot a 74 and is tied for 18th place, with a 147 and Chris McKeel shot a 73 and is tied for 34th place, with a 150.
Two Hokies are playing the tournament as individuals. Eric Reynolds shot an 81 and is tied for 92nd with a 160 and Scott Wise shot an 84, and is tied for 100th place with a 164.
Host Furman leads the 21-team tournament with a one-under par, 575 for the first two rounds, six strokes ahead of the Hokies. Maryland is in third with a 584 and Virginia Commonwealth is fourth, with a 586. Francis Marion is fifth, with a 587.
The final round will be played on Sunday, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
