2007 All-ACC Academic Men's Golf Team Announced

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Five golfers who earned All-Conference honors this past season secured spots on the 2007 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men's Golf Team as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
Players earning All-Conference honors this past season were Clemson's Ben Martin, Duke's Adam Long, Georgia Tech's Roberto Castro and Cameron Tringale, and Conrad von Borsig from Virginia.
Boston College and ACC Co-Champion Georgia Tech were represented by four players each. Duke, North Carolina, Virginia and Co-Champion Virginia Tech claimed two honorees, while Clemson, Florida State, Maryland and Wake Forest landed one player each to round out the 20-member team.
Nine golfers were repeat honorees from the 2006 inaugural All-ACC Academic team, which includes Boston College's James Granello and Kyle Kelly, Georgia Tech's Castro, Taylor Hall and Kevin Larsen, North Carolina's Barden Berry and Robert Riesen, Virginia's von Borsig, and Virginia Tech's Jurrian van der Vaart.
Roberto Castro was named the Golf Coaches Association of America Byron Nelson Award winner, which honors graduating seniors who exemplify outstanding performance in academics and golf.
