Virginia Tech's perennial drive for championships and the Hokies' rich history of athletic achievement generate a high level of public interest and media coverage. The national spotlight shines brightly on Blacksburg when the Hokies are set to perform. From ESPN's Gameday crew covering a Tech football game to ACC Live showcasing Hokie soccer or wrestling, Virginia Tech student-athletes are featured on television, radio, Web sites and in magazines and newspapers nationwide.

Hokie coaches and athletes work closely with the athletics communications staff in servicing media requests. In addition to coordinating press conferences and interviews, the Virginia Tech Athletics Communications Department compiles and presents accurate information to the media on Tech sports utilizing news releases, press kits and media guides as well as personal letters, e-mails and phone calls to media representatives.

Media interested in Tech athletics, be it an interview or press credential requests, are encouraged to contact the A.C. office well in advance. Requests on company letterhead will also be accepted for credential requests. According to Virginia Tech's credential policy, not all requests will be honored, but every effort will be made to accomodate the media.

In coordination with Athletics Internet Services, Athletics Communications presents the latest news and statistics to the media and to Hokie fans at hokiesports.com, Virginia Tech's official athletics Web site.
