VIRGINIA TECH BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS
Since the ACC expanded in 2004, VT has finished 4th or higher in two of the three seasons (4th in '05; 3rd in '06).
In 2007, the Hokies made the NCAA Tournament field as a #5 seed advancing into the second round.
In 2007, the Hokies became the first team in 25 years to win at both Duke and North Carolina during the same season. The Hokies beat the No. 5 ranked Blue Devils at Cameron Indoor stadium on January 6th, and defeated No. 5 North Carolina at the Smith Center in Chapel Hill on February 13th.
In 2007, the Hokies were 6-0 vs. teams that have appeared in the NCAA Final Four over the last five years. Tech defeated Illinois, Duke, Maryland, Georgia Tech and North Carolina (twice).
In 2007, the Hokies were the only visiting team to win at Georgia Tech. Additionally, the Hokies were the only team to win at North Carolina.
Completely sold-out of all men's basketball season tickets, capacity of over 10,000 per game.
Virginia Tech posted the largest men's basketball attendance increase in the country from 2004 to 2005. The Hokies attracted over 3,000 more fans per game at Cassell Coliseum during the Inaugural season in the ACC. This was the second straight year the Hokies have enjoyed a big attendance jump. Virginia Tech was the sixth best in 2004 with over 2,100 additional fans per outing.
