Women's Lacrosse Victorious Over Boston College
Kellyn Hentz leads Hokies with six goals

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -The Virginia Tech women's lacrosse team defeated the Boston College Golden Eagles, 16-13, in a BIG EAST match-up, today, at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Leading the Hokies with six goals and one assists was sophomore Kellyn Hentz.

Opening the scoring Virginia Tech's Lisa Tsimbidis scored the first of her two goals at 26:59. The Eagles rallied back to score at 25:33 on an Meggie O'Neill goal. Karen Diacont score the first of her three goals at 19:15 mark. Tying the score again, O'Neill scored at 18:18 from Miller.

Jumping ahead again, Tech's Tsimbidis scored at 16:15. The Eagles fought back and O'Neill scored her third goal of the game at 14:39. At 12:05 Boston College pulled ahead when Ryan scored from a Miller pass. Hentz then started her run, scoring the first of her six goals at 11:33. The Eagles would respond with a four goal scoring run. Scoring one last goal of the half for the Hokies would be Hentz. At the half, Bosotn College led 8-5.

To start the second half for the Eagles, Miller scored unassisted at 25:49. At 20:39, Kate Bjorke would score her lone goal of the game for Virginia Tech. O'Neill's fifth goal of the game came at 20:50 for the Eagles. The Hokies would then go on a seven goal scoring streak, reclaiming the lead. The goals came from Kim Geis, Hentz, Hentz, Diacont, Samantha Sybert, Hentz and Tsimbidis.

The Hokies held off Boston College, but the Eagles came to within one of taking the lead. Scoring for Boston College was Miller with a pair of goals. But the Hokies went on to score two more insurance goals, one by Sybert and the other by Hentz.

In goal for Tech was Stacey Rainbolt who saved eight. Rachel Zeller stopped ten for Boston College.

The Hokies will return to action April 4th when they take on Vanderbilt at home. First draw is scheduled for 3 PM.
