PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Junior attack wing Dawn Will scored five goals to lead Virginia Tech to a 12-11 win over Massachusetts Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the Bell Atlantic Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Championship at Temple University's Geasey Field.

Will (Phoenix, Md.) broke open a 7-7 halftime score with two straight goals early in the second half, and the Hokies (10-6) were able to hold off UMass (9-6) the rest of the way for the win. Will paced the Hokies with three goals in the first half as Tech avenged last week's 8-7 loss to the Minutewomen in Amherst, Mass.

UMasss jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the contest, but Tech countered behind Will and Karen Diacont (Gambrills, Md.), who had three goals, including the game-winner at 7:25 of the second half. Tech goalie Melissa Wagner (Pasadena, Md.) added nine saves in the match.

"I thought our team showed great tenacity and focus despite falling behind early," said Tech head coach Brooke Martin. "This was a good win for our program, and it gives us an opportunity to play for our first conference championship."

The Hokies, seeded third, will face top-seed Temple in Sunday's championship match at 1 p.m. The host Owls defeated fourth-seed Duquesne, 11-7, earlier in the day to advance to Sunday's final.
