Women's Lacrosse Announces Signees
Six players to join the Hokies in 2002

Virginia Tech lacrosse coach Tami Riley has announced the signing of six players to national letters of intent for the 2002-2003 academic year.
Casey Goodman is a defender from Olney, Md. She plays at Sherwood High School, where she has lettered in lacrosse, swimming and cross country. She made the All-Gazette and all-county teams in lacrosse each of the past two seasons and was the team MVP as a sophomore and junior. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and was named the school's "Student of the Year" each of the last two years.
Stephanie Jones is a defender from Arnold, Md. She attends Broadneck High School, where she was second-team All-Anne Arundel County last season. She also lettered in soccer, where she was the team's MVP and an all-county selection last season. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the honor roll all four years.
Liz Longo is a midfielder from Richmond, Va. She is a two-year letterwinner in lacrosse at the Collegiate School, where she has also lettered in field hockey. A member of the honor roll and National Honor Society, Longo is a team captain in both lacrosse and field hockey. The field hockey team won the 2001 state championship and she was first team All-Metro.
Ashley Puckett is a defender from Millersville, Md. She is a two-year starter on the Severna Park High School lacrosse team that has won the last two Maryland state titles and was ranked sixth nationally. She also plays soccer and played on the 2000 Maryland state championship team. A member of the honor roll, Puckett has participated in the last two Vail Shootout all-star tournaments and was a member of the All-Star Express in the summer of 2001.
Liz Sheridan is a midfielder from Summit, N.J. She is a three-year letterwinner in lacrosse at Summit High School, where she has also lettered in basketball and field hockey. She was team MVP as a freshman and a third-team all-state selection as a sophomore. As a junior, Sheridan was an honorable mention All-American, first team all-state and academic All-American.
Lindsay Wooten is an attack from Annapolis, Md. She has lettered in both lacrosse and basketball at Severn School. Wooten won the Kimball Award at Severn, as selected by her teammates. She was MVP of the school's basketball team a year ago.
"I am extremely excited about my first recruiting class here at Virginia Tech," Riley said. "They are a talented group of individuals that has the ability to contribute both on and off the field. We look forward to having this dynamic group join our program in the fall."
