BLACKSBURG- The Virginia Tech lacrosse team travels to Buies Creek, N.C. for a 4 p.m. tilt against the Campbell Camels on Friday. The game will be broadcast on the Big South Network.

The Hokies (10-2, 2-0)
Tech enters Friday’s contest on a four-game winning streak, tied for its best of the season. Last time out, Tech defeated William & Mary 17-12 behind Kristine Loscalzo’s four-goal effort. Four other Hokies also registered three goals and Meagh Graham made 10 saves in goal to secure the victory. The game was suspended for 80 minutes due to lightning in the area during the second half and play resumed indoors at the Practice Facility

Tech is ranked 12th in this week’s Inside Lacrosse Poll for the second consecutive week, the program’s highest ever ranking. This season, the Hokies have set program records by winning two ACC games in the same season for the first time ever. This is the first time since 2011 that Tech has reached double digits in wins.

Tech is undefeated (4-0) on the road this season.

The Camels (3-5, 0-0)
Campbell lost its last game 16-7 to the University of Richmond Spiders. The Camels are led by the attacking play of Kayla Reid (15 goals and 16 assists) and Melissa Placek (17 goals and 6 assists).

The Camels and Hokies have played three common opponents in 2017; Elon, ODU and Davidson. The Camels dropped games to Elon and ODU, while defeating Davidson 9-8. Tech has beaten ODU and Davidson, but fell to Elon in overtime.

Campbell is 1-4 in home games in 2017.

The Series
Virginia Tech has never met Campbell on the lacrosse field. Friday will be the program’s first ever meeting. Campbell’s lacrosse program is in its fifth season and fourth under head coach Dawn Easley.

Next up: The Hokies return home on Tuesday, March 28th for a 4 p.m. game against the North Carolina Tar Heels. The game is set to be played at Thompson Field.
