Cassell Coliseum Fan Guide (A-Z)
Below you will find a comprehensive description of the Virginia Tech
Hokies' policies at Cassell Coliseum. It is the team's wish that all
patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience, and we believe that these
policies will aid in accomplishing that endeavor.
Alcoholic beverages ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED within Cassell Coliseum. Anyone caught possessing alcoholic beverages may be ejected from the arena. NO refunds will be given in these cases.
ATM machines are located in the lobby and near Section 3.
Announcements and paging will not be made unless there is an emergency. If a family member at home needs to reach a fan attending a game, assistance can be provided by contacting a police officer or event staff member.
Banners, signs and flags will not be permitted in Cassell Coliseum.
Not available for basketball games.
Blacksburg Transit provides a shuttle service at no cost from Litton Reaves, the stadium parking lot, and the track/softball parking lot. Shuttle service starts two hours prior to tip-off and ends approximately one hour post game. For more information visit www.btransit.org or call (540) 961-1185.
No video or movie cameras will be permitted inside the arena. Still cameras are permitted, however camera's with a detachable lens 6 inches or longer and/or tripods are not.
Virginia Tech basketball should be an enjoyable experience for all fans. In order to promote athletic excellence and fan enjoyment, we ask for your assistance in displaying a high degree of sportsmanship at all times. Virginia Tech reserves the right to remove from the coliseum those individuals whose conduct disrupts players, coaches, officials or other fans. NO refunds will be given in these cases. Any person entering the floor of play at any time will be subject to arrest.
Concession stands are located along the east, west, and south concourses and can be reached by exiting from any portal.
Customers who require special assistance are urged to make all ticket arrangements well in advance by contacting the Athletics Ticket Office at (540) 231-6731 or 1-800-VA TECH-4 (800-828-3244). To enter the handicap seating area of the arena, enter the front doors of the Merryman Center, bear to the left and follow hallway into Jamerson Athletic Center, pass the elevator and turn left. An event staff member will then assist you to your seating area.
An elevator in the Jamerson Athletic Center is available for disabled fans. Once inside the coliseum arena enter the Hall of Fame hallway across from Section 18, elevator is to the right, then proceed to the second floor.
All doors open 1 ½ hours prior to tip off. Public doors are located on the east, west and north sides of the coliseum. Player's guest and recruit doors are located in the lobby of the coliseum.

A first aid station is located outside of Section 2.
Assistance with any ticket problem can be attained by contacting the Virginia Tech Athletics Ticket Office at (540) 231-6731 or 1-800-VA TECH-4 (800-828-3244). The Athletics Ticket Office is located in the lobby of Cassell Coliseum. Public Will Call, player guest and recruit Will Call are located in the lobby. Will Call is open 2 hours prior to game time and remains open through the end of the 1st half.
Every person must have a ticket, even an infant. Times and dates of games are subject to change. The Athletics Ticket Office is not responsible for tickets that are lost, stolen or mailed to a second party. No refunds or exchanges are permitted if the game is played. If you are a person with a disability and desire special accommodations you must notify the ticket office well in advance of the game. Once you leave the coliseum, there is no re-entry.

There are parking lots on campus reserved for Hokie Club members on basketball game days (see map). Parking in these lots requires a valid parking pass that is mailed before the beginning of the season to qualifying Hokie Club members. Opportunities to purchase a season parking pass for home basketball games is a benefit of Hokie Club membership and all parking passes are assigned according to the Hokie Club Point Priority System. Hokie Club members are limited to one parking pass per membership. On basketball game days, a valid parking pass is required for entrance into these parking lots. Upon entering, parking passes must be visibly displayed on the vehicle's rear view mirror or dashboard and must remain there at all times while the car is in the parking lot. Vehicles without a valid parking pass are subject to being ticketed or towed at the owner's expense. Lost, misplaced or stolen parking passes will not be replaced and parking passes are not available on game day. For safety reasons as well as emergency access if necessary, the following is NOT PERMITTED in the parking lots:

Items can be claimed following the game and items not claimed will be kept until the end of the season. To contact lost and found throughout the season (not available on game days), contact one of the following departments: Athletics Facilities: (540) 231-2199, or Virginia Tech Police Department: (540) 231-6411.

Restrooms for men and women are located in the corners of the concourse and can be reached by exiting any portal. Family/Special Needs restrooms are located in the following locations: Between sections 12 and 14 and between sections 13 and 15.

All persons entering the arena are subject to a visual search by coliseum personnel prior to entering the doors. In addition, persons carrying purses, back packs, diaper bags, etc. may be asked to open such items for inspection.
Virginia Tech is committed to providing a smoke-free environment in all facilities, both indoor and outdoor. Smoking WILL NOT BE PERMITTED in the arena concourses, seating areas, restrooms or portals leading to the seating area.
Souvenir stores - HokieShop - is located between Sections 4 and 6.

- Blocking the roadway.
- Blocking the sidewalks - The sidewalks must remain open for pedestrian travel.
- Destroying landscaping or fencing.
- Underage drinking.
- All cars in the contributor lots must keep their parking pass displayed at all times, or be subject to towing.
- The owner of the pass is responsible for any violations of the policy due to someone using the pass. I.E. if you lend it out or sell it and there is a violation, you, as the owner of the pass, are responsible if any penalty occurs.
- First violation a ticket will be issued ($30).
- Second violation will result in a loss of the pass for an indefinite period of time.
