Georgetown Defeats Hokies, 96-68
Brian Chase scores 20 points to lead Tech

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Georgetown defeated Virginia Tech, 96-68, in BIG EAST men's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C.

Washington native Brian Chase led all scorers with 20 points for the Hokies. Joe Hamilton had 14 points off the bench and Carlos Dixon added 11 points. Anthony Perry and Nathaniel Burton each scored 16 points to lead Georgetown.

The Hoyas, ranked #12 in the AP poll, jumped out to a 53-24 halftime lead and never trailed in the second half. Georgetown outrebounded the Hokies, 47-34, including 20-9 on the offensive glass. Tech shot a season-best 24-28 from the line.

Virginia Tech, now 7-8 overall and 1-3 in league action, returns to action on Wednesday, as they travel to Villanova for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. Georgetown is now 15-0 on the season and 3-0 in BIG EAST play.
