BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Lamar Odom grabbed 12 rebounds and scored 18 points, including eight in a decisive second-half run Wednesday, as Rhode Island beat Virginia Tech 76-67.

Virginia Tech (9-12, 4-7 Atlantic 10) led 36-33 with 17:04 left after Rolan Roberts hit a 3-pointer. Odom then launched the Rams (14-10, 7-4) on a 23-8 run with a layup and followed with three more as Rhode Island took a 56-44 lead with 8:14 left.

The Hokies, who shot only 30 percent from the floor in the second half after leading 31-29 at the break, never got closer than 8 points the rest of the game.

Luther Clay led the Rams with 19 points, while Preston Murphy had 15 abd Ed Brown 10. The Rams held a 44-33 rebounding advantage.

Roberts had 23 points for Virginia Tech, Eddie Lucas added 14, Brendan Dunlop 11 and Dennis Mims 10.
