Men's Basketball Falls to Boston College
Chase and Dongo each score 14
January 31, 2001 CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Virginia Tech lost to #20 Boston College, 83-61, in men's BIG EAST basketball action Wednesday night in Conte Forum. Tech jumped out to a 13-6 lead six minutes into the contest, but BC stormed back to take a 35-22 lead into intermission. Tech outshot the Eagles, 53.1 percent-42.5 percent, and outrebounded BC, 36-34, but Tech committed a season-high 30 turnovers. Brian Chase and Mibindo Dongo led the Hokies with 14 points each, while Joe Hamilton added 10 points off the bench. Dongo's 14 points was a career high. Tech, now 8-11 overall and 2-6 in league play, travels to Connecticut Saturday night to face the Huskies. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. Boston College is now 15-2 overall and 6-1 in BIG EAST action.
