Radford hits winning shot with :10 seconds left to defeat Virginia Tech in Cassell
Mims finishes with 17 points and seven blocks for the Hokies

BLACKSBURG, Va. ö Radfordās Correy Watkins hit a layup with :10 seconds left and scored the last four points of the game to lift the Highlanders to a 62-60 upset victory over Virginia Tech, tonight, in Cassell Coliseum.

Tech held a seven-point lead with 6:52 left in the game, before Radford went on a 9-1 run, taking a one-point lead, 54-53, with 5:00 minutes left in the game. Rolan Roberts layup with 4:01 left in the game tied the game at 58-58., before Brendan Dunlopās layup put the Hokies up by two, 60-58, with 3:34 left. Both teams went scoreless until the 1:19 mark when Correy Watkins hit a layup to tie the game at 60-60 with 1:19 left in the game.

Tech began the game on a 12-1 run, before Radford used an 18-3 run to not only get back into the game but take the lead, 19-15, with 7:05 left in the first half. Tech ran off a 13-6 run to take a seven-point halftime lead.

Radford placed four players in double figures led by Ryan Charlesā 15 points. Jason Williams, Rian Everett and Correy Watkins each finished with 12 points for the Highlanders.

Virginia Tech was led by Dennis Mims with 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor and 1-of-2 from the free throw line. Roberts finished with 14 points and Andreā Ray had 11 points.

Tech won the battle of the boards, 38-30, but also led in turnovers with 24 to Radfordās 13. Ray led the Hokies with eight boards, followed by Roberts and Mims with seven each. Watkins led the Highlanders with eight boards.
