Comcast SportsNet heads to Virginia Tech this Sunday
January 17, 2007

Bethesda, MD - Comcast SportsNet, the leader in local sports television, will begin a tour of the region's top basketball programs this Sunday, Jan. 21, as the University of Maryland visits Virginia Tech for an Atlantic Coast Conference meeting of two nationally-ranked teams. SportsNite on Campus heads to Blacksburg to capture every aspect of the Virginia Tech basketball experience. One of the hottest teams in NCAA men's basketball, Virginia Tech remains undefeated in ACC play with wins over then-No. 1 North Carolina and then-No. 5 Duke.

On Sunday, Jan. 21, the "SportsNite on Campus" crew will be live from Cassell Coliseum for segments in SportsNite at 7 and 10 p.m. The network's news program will feature exclusive interviews with Virginia Tech coach Seth Greenberg, along with Maryland coach Gary Williams, and other special guests. The"SportsNite on Campus" marketing and camera crew will also be stationed on the arena's concourse, interviewing students and other members of the Virginia Tech faithful.

Throughout the week during SportsNite at 10 p.m., Comcast SportsNet's Russ Thaler will be immersed in every aspect of campus life. From a Mic'd Up segment with Greenberg providing insight into his team's preparations for the Terrapins, to a sit-down interview with the coach and seniors Jamon Gordon, Zabian Dowdell and Coleman Collins, Comcast SportsNet will take you inside the Hokies program as the team hopes to return to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1996.
