Dowdell earns NABC honor
Senior guard selected first team All-District

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Virginia Tech guard Zabian Dowdell has been selected first team Division I District Four All-District for 2007, as selected by members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
The NABC Division I All-District teams, recognizing the nation's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes, are selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC. The 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-America teams to be announced at the conclusion of the 2006-07 NCAA regular season.
Dowdell, a senior from Pahokee, Fla., leads Virginia Tech in scoring, averaging 18.1 points per game and leads the ACC in steals per game. The Hokies are currently 20-8 overall and 10-4 in Atlantic Coast Conference play and are tied for first place in the league standings. The Hokies have clinched a bye in the first round of the ACC Tournament.
Dowdell is one of eight ACC players named to various first team All-District teams. A total of 11 ACC players are listed on the various first and second teams nationally.
