BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced Tuesday that it has extended head men's basketball coach Seth Greenberg's employment contract through the 2012-13 season.
Greenberg is 291-233 overall and 78-63 in his four-plus seasons at Virginia Tech. Under Greenberg, the Hokies advanced to the second round of the 2007 NCAA West Regional and to the second round of the 2005 NIT. Greenberg was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 2005 and his teams have received first-round byes in the ACC Tournament in two of their first three seasons in the league.
"Seth Greenberg has done an outstanding job as head men's basketball coach since his arrival in Blacksburg," Director of Athletics Jim Weaver said. "We are very pleased that he will continue to be our coach through the 2013 basketball season."
"It is an honor for me to represent Virginia Tech," Greenberg said. "I appreciate the confidence that the University has shown in the success that we have been able to establish and in the future and direction of our program."
