    Hokies return to Cassell Coliseum to face UNC Greensboro
    Tech, Spartans meet for the ninth time
    Virginia Tech vs. UNC Greensboro Game Notes

    Virginia Tech returns to Cassell Coliseum for the first time in more than three weeks to host UNC Greensboro. The game will tip-off at noon and will be shown on ESPN3.

    About Today’s Game

    The Hokies are 7-4 on the season and 1-0 in ACC action.

    The Spartans are 6-7 overall after a 59-51 loss at Wake Forest last Saturday.

    The Hokies lead the all-time series, 8-0.

    VCU 82, VT 52

    The Hokies lost to VCU, 82-52, in the Governor’s Holiday Hoops Classic in the Richmond Coliseum last Saturday evening.

    Jarell Eddie and Ben Emelogu led the Hokies with 12 points each.

    Eddie Honored by ACC

    Jarell Eddie was named the ACC Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 8. Eddie scored 34 points in the win over Winthrop and 24 points in the conference win at Miami.

    Hokies Lead the Nation

    Virginia Tech leads the nation in three-point field goal percentage.

    Rankin Leaves Team

    Junior guard Marquis Rankin has decided to leave the team, effective immediately, but will remain at Virginia Tech as a student.

    10 With 10

    So far this season, 10 different Hokies have recorded at least 10 points or more in a game.

    Longest ACC Streak

    Jarell Eddie has scored in double figures in each of the last 14 games in which he has played, including all 11 games this season. That is the longest streak of consecutive double-figure scoring game in the ACC.

    Tech will continue this elongated homestand on Dec. 31, as they play Maryland-Eastern Shore at 4 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum.
