Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech Game Notes

Virginia Tech travels to Atlanta on Saturday to wrap-up the 2013-14 regular season in McCamish Pavilion against the Yellow Jackets. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be shown live on ESPN2.

About Today’s Game

The Hokies are 9-20 on the season and 2-15 in ACC action.

The Yellow Jackets are 14-16 overall and 5-12 in the ACC after a 67-62 win at Syracuse on Tuesday.

Maryland 64, VT 47

The Hokies lost 64-47, at Maryland on Tuesday night.

Jarell Eddie and Joey van Zegeren led the Hokies with 14 points each and Trevor Thompson grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss.

Wilson Sets New Standards

Devin Wilson set a new Virginia Tech freshman record in the home loss to Virginia. He now has 138 assists this season, the most ever for a Tech freshman, breaking the old mark of 113, set by Hank Thorns in the 2007-08 season.

Wilson also set a new Tech freshman record with 176 free throw attempts, surpassing the old mark of 164 attempts by Dale Solomon in the 1978-79 season

Scoring 1,100

Jarell Eddie currently has 1,161 points at Virginia Tech and is 36th in career scoring for the Hokies.

Injury Update

Adam Smith (left calf strain), Ben Emelogu (left ankle), C.J. Barksdale (right ankle) and Cadarian Raines (left ankle) are questionable for today’s game.

Academic Success

The Hokies place four players on the 2014 ACC All-Academic Men’s Basketball Team.

Jarell Eddie was named to the team for the third consecutive season and is joined by teammates Will Johnston, Joey van Zegeren and Trevor Thompson.
