Tech and Cougars meet in second round of NIT
Virginia Tech at BYU Game Notes

Virginia Tech travels to BYU on Friday night for a second round game in the 2016 NIT. The game, scheduled for a 9:30 p.m. EDT tip, will be played at the Marriott Center on the BYU campus and will be televised live on ESPNU.

About Tonight’s Game

The Hokies enter tonight’s game 20-14 overall and was 10-8 in ACC action … The Hokies are the third seed in this bracket ... BYU is the second seed ... The Cougars are 24-10 overall and were 13-5 in the West Coast Conference ... The winner of tonight’s game will play the winner of the Creighton - Wagner game.

The Hokies won an exciting opening-round contest, 86-81, in overtime against Princeton in Cassell Coliseum on Wednesday night ... Zach LeDay scored a career-high 29 points, to go along with 11 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season ... Jalen Hudson had 28 points and Seth Allen came off the bench to score 10 points in the win.

The Series Against the Cougars

The Hokies are 0-3 against BYU all-time ... The Hokies had a home-and-home series with the Cougars in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons ... The most recent game was 97-71 BYU win in Salt Lake City on Dec. 29, 2012, in a game played at home arena of the NBA’s Utah Jazz ...
