The Hokies enter the game 17-7 overall and 6-5 in ACC action. The Cavaliers are 23-1 overall and 12-0 in conference play. UVa is ranked second in both major polls. Tonight’s game is part of the Commonwealth Clash, sponsored by Virginia529. The game is part of ESPN's College GameDay.

Tech is 55-91 all-time against the Cavaliers and 13-37 all-time against UVa in road games. UVa won the earlier meeting this season, 78-52 in Cassell Coliseum on Jan. 3.
