Golfers Capture Third Place
    Four Hokies Finish In The Top 25

    AIKEN, S.C. - The Virginia Tech golf team captured third place, Tuesday, at the Cleveland Golf Collegiate Championship at the Palmetto Golf Club.

    Tech recorded rounds of 291-284-292-867 to capture the third place slot. Augusta State captured the first place spot with scores of 283-280-286-849. The University of Virginia was second with scores of 294-276-292-862.

    The Hokies had four golfers to finish in the top 25. Johnson Wagner finished tied for 8th with rounds of 71-70-73-214. Robert Duck of Augusta State also finished 8th.

    Brendon de Jonge finished tied for 17th with rounds of 75-69-73-217. Gary Shankland of South Carolina- Aiken also finished 17th.

    Chris McKeel and Brian Krusoe both finished tied for 19th. McKeel tallied rounds of 74-71-73-218 while Krusoe recorded scores of 71-74-73-218.

    Tech's other finisher, Eric Reynolds, placed 58th with rounds of 77-77-74-228.
