Tech Golf Ranked 12th Nationally

March 5, 2001 Virginia Tech has moved from 15th to 12th nationally in the current Golfweek.com/Sagarin collegiate golf poll. This is the Hokies highest-ever national ranking. Tech enters the 2001 spring season ranked sixth in District III North. Tech is led by Brendon de Jonge, who is currently ranked 18th by Golfweek.com. Teammate Brian Krusoe is ranked 56th nationally. The Hokies open the 2001 spring season today at the Matlock Collegiate Classic at the Grasslands Golf Club in Lakeland, Fla. Tech will be looking for its third consecutive victory, after winning the final two matches of the 2000 fall season.
