Hokies to Tee Off at NCAA Championship
    Tech looks to improve on last year's eighth place finish

    COLUMBUS, Oh. - Virginia Tech tees off Wednesday morning in the first round of the 2002 NCAA Division I Golf Championship at the OSU Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.

    The Hokies were delayed two hours and fifteen minutes by rain and thunderstorms in their final practice round on Tuesday morning. Tech also had a practice round on Monday afternoon.

    Tech, the eighth seed from the Central Regional, tees off at 7:45 a.m . on Wednesday. The Hokies will play with the other two eighth seeds, Georgia from the East Regional and Pacific from the West Regional.

    The Hokies finished eighth in last season's championship in Durham, N.C. Tech returns the same group of five players from last season's team.
