Hokies Finish Fourth at ODU/Seascape
Stinnett fires low round of tournament

KITTY HAWK, N.C. -- Virginia Tech shot a two-day total of 587 and finished in fourth place at the ODU/Seascape Collegiate Invitational at the Seascape Golf Course in Kitty Hawk, N.C. on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Brendon de Jonge (Harare, Zimbabwe), last year's medalist in the event, and sophomore Ryan Stinnett (Amherst, Va.) tied for sixth place, shooting 141. Stinnett shot a 67 in Tuesday's final round, the low round of the tournament.

Senior Johnson Wagner (Garrison, N.Y.) shot a 145, including a 71 in the final round. Sophomore Matt Hollerbach (Tulsa, Okla.), making his first appearance of the season in the Tech lineup, shot an 82 and junior Chris McKeel (Wilson, N.C.) shot an 88 in the final round.

UNC Wilmington won the event at 569. First-round leader Maryland finished second at 570 and Furman was third at 582, five strokes better than the Hokies. Host Old Dominion finished in fifth place with a two-day total of 588. The Hokies were the defending champion of the event.

The Hokies will complete the fall season on Nov. 9-11, at the Long Cove Collegiate Invitational at the Long Cove Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C.
