De Jonge Finishes Second at All-America Golf Classic

EL PASO, TEXAS - Virginia Tech golfer Brendon de Jonge finished in second place after the final round of the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic, held at the 6,781 yard, par-71 El Paso Country Club in El Paso, Texas.

De Jonge, a senior from Harare, Zimbabwe, shot 73-69-71=213 and finished five strokes behind the winner, Adam Rubinson of TCU. The event, comprised of 24 all-americans, is an individual, exempt event.

The Hokie golf team will be back in action Feb. 17, at the Matlock Collegiate Classic held at the Grasslands Golf Course in Lakeland, Fla.
