ORLANDO, fla. - The Virginia Tech golf team is ranked 46th in the final Fall 2006 national rankings, in the Golfweek/Sagarin poll.

The Hokies are eighth of eight Atlantic Coast Conference teams ranked in the top fifty nationally. Clemson is the highest ranked ACC team in the poll, at 10th. Florida is ranked first in the poll. The Hokies are ranked 53rd in the final fall Golfstat head-to-head standings.

Individually, Drew Weaver is ranked 96th by Golfweek/Sagarin. The sophomore from High Point, N.C. is one of 14 ACC competitors in the top 100 individuals.

The Hokies open the Spring 2007 season on Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Puerto Rico Invitational at the Rio Mar Country Club's River Course in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
