Hokies Look Forward to Challenging Spring Schedule
Spring Break trip to Florida, alumni weekend highlight game schedule
February 25, 2004

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech men's soccer team, coming off its most successful fall season in school history, is getting ready for next year's move into the ACC with a challenging spring schedule highlighted by a spring break to Florida, an ACC Festival and an alumni weekend.

A majority of the Hokie lineup returns this spring -a lineup that helped Tech to a 14-5-3 record in 2003 and a second round NCAA Tournament appearance.

Tech will open the spring ledger March 12-14 during a spring break trip to Florida. The Hokies will face a staunch test from Florida International and Barry College in Miami as well as a meeting with the U-17 U.S. National Team in Bradenton. Tech travels to Washington D.C. on March 27 for a match with George Washington University, then makes the short trek across U.S. 460 to Bluefield, W. Va., on April 4 for two matches against Kentucky and Oakland University in the Mountain State Invitational.

On April 11, the Hokies will host the Virginia Tech Indoor Tournament with Tech, West Virginia, University of Charleston, Bridgewater, Marymount and some Tech alumni participating. The Hokies will get a good preview of the fall season when they participate in the ACC Spring Festival on April 17 in Cary, N.C. The spring season concludes on April 24 as Tech hosts Alumni Weekend.
