Soccer Programs Regionally Ranked by the NSCAA
Both men's and women's program ranked eighth
September 14, 2001 Both the Virginia Tech men's and women's soccer teams are ranked in the latest edition of the NSCAA/adidas regional rankings for the week of Sept. 10. The men, who are currently 4-0 overall this year, are ranked in eighth position in the South Atlantic region. The 2-1-1 women's team is listed in the Mid-Atlantic region and is also ranked in the eighth position. The women are coming off a very successful weekend that saw them go 2-0 in the adidas/Spartan Classic tournament in Greensboro, N.C. Friday night the Hokies defeated the host team, UNC Greensboro, 3-2 and Sunday, they were victorious over the Western Carolina Catamounts, 3-1. The men's team also experienced its share of success this past weekend. Tech defeated Elon by a score of 3-0, extending its streak of shutout wins this year to four games.
