Men's Soccer Falls to Longwood
Hokies Shutout by Lancers

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech men's soccer team fell to Longwood 1-0 at the Johnson/Miller Track and Sports Complex today.

The lone goal of the match was scored by the Lancer's Mark Connelly at the 34:44 mark in the match. Andy Plum was credited with the assist.

Hokie goalkeeper Ben Pinkerton (Blacksburg, Va.), making his first start of the year played solid in goal. He recorded two saves on the day on six Longwood shots. Longwood keeper John Kennedy registered eight saves on the day off 18 Hokie shots.

For the game the Hokies tallied eighteen shots, four corners, and thirteen fouls. The Lancers had six shots, three corners, and seventeen fouls.

With the loss the Hokies fall to 2-8-2. Longwood improves to 6-3-2. The men's soccer team will be in Saturday when they travel to Lexington, Va. to take on VMI.
