Men's Soccer Ties Pittsburgh
Enmark scores two in draw

The Virginia Tech men's soccer team tied the Pittsburgh Panthers, 2-2, Sunday afternoon in Blacksburg, Va.

After playing a scoreless half of soccer, the two teams exploded for four goals in the second half. Tech got on the board first when Ty Enmark (Sterling Heights, Mich.) scored his third goal of the year. Eric Prigot (Park Ridge, N.J.) sent a ball into the box and Enmark headed it past the Panther goalkeeper. The goal was scored at the 56:27 mark in the match and Prigot received credit for the assist.

Pittsburgh wasted no time replying to the Tech goal. Chris Churchill scored less than a minute later to knot the game up at a goal apiece. Churchill drilled a hard shot from 20 yards out got past the Hokie keeper. The goal was scored at the 57:33 mark and Miles Dowiak was credited with an assist.

The Panthers would take a one-goal advantage when they scored again at the 61:04 mark. Marco Carrizales knocked in a shot after a scramble in front of the goal. There was no assist on the play.

Tech tied the game at the 78:40 mark when Enmark scored his second goal of the day. The Hokies broke away from the defense and had a two-on-one break on the keeper. Enmark shot the ball and it deflected off the keeper directly back to him. Enmark collected the ball and chipped it in for his fourth goal of the year. There was no assist on the goal.

Colin Kibler (Virginia Beach, Va.) played the entire match in goal for Tech, collecting six saves on 16 Pittsburgh shots. Justin Gaul also played the entire match in goal for his team. Gaul produced four saves on 12 Hokie shots.

The tie leaves the Hokies with a 8-5-2 record overall and a 2-4-2 record in the BIG EAST. Pittsburgh is now at 4-7-3 on the year and 1-5-2 in the conference. Tech plays its last home game of the year on Wednesday when it hosts Gardner Webb at 3 p.m.
