Ogbuawa Scores Two Goals in the Win

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech men's soccer team defeated the Bucknell Bison, 2-1, Monday afternoon in Blacksburg.

Tech's Okey Ogbuawa (Fort Washington, Md.) opened the scoring in the match when he shot the ball past Bison goalkeeper Steve Whitaker. There was no assist on the play. The goal came at the 7:10 mark in the match.

Bucknell tied the game up at one score apiece when Ian McVeigh scored off a pass from Nick Taylor. The goal came at the 73:19 mark in the match.

The game remained a 1-1 tie until the 84:52 mark when Ogbuawa scored his second goal of the day. No assist was given on the play.

Tech goalkeeper Colin Kibler (Virginia Beach, Va.) played the entire match in goal for the Hokies, as did Bucknell keeper Whitaker. Kibler recorded eight saves off 17 Bison shots. Bucknell's Whitaker collected seven saves on 18 Hokie shots.

With the win the Hokies improve their record to 2-7-2 on the year. The next opponent, Longwood, travels to Blacksburg Wednesday.
