Two Players Named to VaSID Men's Soccer Team
Cummins and Silva awarded second-team honors

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Two members of the Virginia Tech men's soccer team have been named to the 2000 Virginia College Sports Information Directors men's soccer team. Junior Fred Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and senior Ryan Cummins (Woodbridge, Va.) were awarded second-team honors for their play this season.

Cummins scored three goals on the year while tallying three assists for a total of eight points while playing the midfield position for the Hokies. Cummins played in 16 games for Tech, starting all of them.

Silva started and played in 14 games at the midfield position for Tech. He led the Hokies this year in shots taken (52), assists (9), goals scored (8) and total points (25). Silva's 25 career assists broke the school record of 21 set by Eric McClellan.
