GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference announced broadcast coverage today for its Olympic sports for the upcoming fall season. Virginia Tech will compete in 13 broadcasts overall with volleyball and men’s soccer each making five appearances while women’s soccer will make three. The league’s media rights holders will distribute at least 101 events live, surpassing the previous record of 77 set last year.
The ACC will have 101 broadcasts, totaling 193 school appearances – the highest count in history for ACC fall Olympic sports – this fall. A total of 82 ACC fall contests will appear exclusively on ESPN networks, including six on ESPNU and 76 on ESPN3 and all will be available on the WatchESPN App. Both the ACC Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championship finals will be carried live on ESPNU and both semifinals will be shown on ESPN3. In addition, 15 games will be broadcast on the league’s regional sports networks (RSN), which include FOX Sports Carolinas, FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Florida, FOX Sports Indiana, Sun Sports, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, NESN, YES, ROOT SPORTS, and MSG. Finally the ACC Digital Network (theACC.com) will carry four soccer matches live – two men’s and two women’s.
In addition to the 101 events announced Thursday as part of the ACC’s Olympic Sport conference package, other games may be added as the start of each respective season draws closer.
