Kadiri drops Opening match at National Indoors
    Tech junior to see action in Friday consolation round

    DALLAS, Tex. -- Saber Kadiri had a tough opening day at the 2001 Omni Hotels National Indoors dropping his first round match 6-4, 6-4 to Johann Brunstrom of host Southern Methodist University. The event features 32 singles players who qualified for the event earlier at various regional tournaments.

    Kadiri (Jr., Algiers, Algeria) qualified by winning six matches last week at the East Region tournament in Princeton, N.J. where he defeated the Nos. 1, 3 and 4 seeds on his way to the title. He will face Tiago Ruffoni (Auburn) on Friday at 11 a.m. eastern time.
