Hokies wins all six singles matches and two of three in doubles play

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Virginia Tech men's tennis team won all six singles matches and 2-of-3 doubles matches to shutout George Washington, 7-0, tonight, at the Big Vanilla Racquet Club.

Grant Semon and Eddie Terzimehic defeated Mike Stein and Jonathan Davidson, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles and Davor Dupljak and Saber Kadiri won at No. 2 doubles, 8-3, over Kinzie Wright and Nick Vickstrom to give Tech the doubles point. GW's Grant Zamansky and Mike Melen defeated Andrew Vu and Sam Brown at No. 3 doubles, 8-1.

Virginia Tech won all six singles to post the 7-0 victory. Jay Bruner defeated Stein, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles and Dupljak defeated Wright, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Kadiri defeated Davidson, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 3 singles and Grant Semon defeated Vickstrom, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Brown defeated Zamansky, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and Ian Chaney won at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1, over Melen.

The Hokies raise their record to 10-8. They travel to Montgomery, Ala., on March 15-19, to participate in the Blue-Gray Classic.
