Delgado/Larregola drop match at All-American
Hokies return to action at ITA Northeast Regional

TULSA, Okla. - Nicholas Delgado and Albert Larregola were eliminated Friday afternoon from the doubles competition at the 2005 Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championship hosted by the University of Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center - site of the 2004 and 2008 NCAA Championships. The Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships include 128-player and 64-doubles team qualifying tournaments, which concluded Wednesday afternoon, and feed into the 64-player, 32-doubles team main draw which runs through Oct. 9.

Delgado (Fr., Madrid, Spain)/Larregola (So., Lleida,Spain) defeated Ruben Gonzales/Marc Spicijanic (Illinois), 8-5, on Thursda,y but lost Friday's Round of 16 match, 8-4, against No. 7 seeds Andreas Siljestrom/Marco Born (Middle Tennessee State).

The event has been played annually since 1979. A number of its past participants have enjoyed successful professional tennis careers, including 1999 U.S. Open finalist Todd Martin, formerly of Northwestern, and current pros like James Blake ('98 champ) and Bob ('97 champ) and Mike Bryan. Mississippi's Catalin Gard captured last year's singles title and Ohio State's Ross Wilson and Scott Green won the doubles championship.

Tech will return to action Oct. 20-25 when they participate in the ITA Northeast Regional in Dartmouth, Mass.
